As we meander through our lives we impact and affect our surroundings by our presence. Everything that we do leaves a resonance in the environment; our culture, history and actions help determine this.
Our identities are stamped on everything around us, from smudged fingerprints on a surface, footprints in the dust or a choice of colour painted on a wall.

Our memories and experiences inform our actions and thoughts and manifest in the physical. We leave behind evidence of our presence; a trace of our existence in that particular space.

This work examines environments that have been abandoned, are empty but they still retain a latent presence, a trace.

By using painting and drawing to record and document these traces a duality emerges: the image of these physical resonances and the visible evidence of the artists hand
