SIDESHOW 22nd October - 18th December
HMS will feature in Sidesshow. Sideshow complements Nottingham’s growing artist-led scene and do-it-yourself attitude towards contemporary art. Sideshow is a unique city-wide event in Nottingham presenting a range of contemporary art exhibitions, site specific public projects, artists’ talks, performances, screenings and music events in the artist-led spaces, studios and empty buildings of the city.  Info..
Fi Burke
FLOURISH

Private View:Sunday 5th December 1 - 5pm & Monday 6th December 3- 7pm

Artist Fi Burke will be in residence at Harrington Mills Studios as part of Sideshow 2010 from November 29th to December 18th, 2010.

Fi will be drawing and mark-making in a flour garden using only items from the kitchen cupboard. The home baking theme will be explored throughout the exhibition through the eyes of a Japanese Zen garden.

This residency builds on Fi’s recent work Ruminate which explores the notion of words being ‘ingested’ to become permanent or temporary thoughts.

Throughout the residency Fi will be producing both large and small-scale images; these will be displayed as part of the exhibition and form the content for the artist’s book, which will be available in early 2011.

The exhibition space has over 20 linear metres of wall space and a modest floor area for 3-D pieces for HMS artists a showcase their work. During August 2008, Nicholas Wright from Eagle Works studios, Nottingham was the first 'outsider' to have an exhibition.
