Please complete the application form clearly in black ink or type (your form will be photocopied. (You may generate the application form on a word processor yourself providing you keep to the same order as the questions and do not exceed the number of words allowed for your answers.

If you would like to receive an acknowledgement that we have received your application, please enclose a self-addressed and stamped postcard marked “Erewash Fine Art Graduate Residency”.

Unfortunately Erewash Borough Council can only write to those applicants who are invited to interview. If you have not heard from us by Weds 18th July 2007, then you must assume that your application has been unsuccessful.

Your Proposal

The Studio Residency is intended to provide the opportunity for a graduate fine artist to have the space and time to develop their studio and participatory arts practice. Please tell us (in no more than 250 words) how you would intend to use this opportunity i.e. to help develop an existing project or to realise a new one. See Residency Aims attached.

Please also let us know how your work and project could relate to or engage with the place or communities where the studio is located.

Criminal Records Disclosures

Certain posts within the Council are subject to a CRB disclosure. The position of Erewash Fine Arts Graduate requires a CRB check for the five days of participatory arts workshops you will be required to run as part of this residency.
You will not be contracted to commence work until the disclosure record has been received and cleared. Any information disclosed will be treated sensitively and in confidence and will only be used in deciding a candidates suitability for the post applied for. Failure to disclose any information required of you may result in disciplinary action for dismissal from the Authority.

Artists Commitments

The successful artist will be committed to providing Erewash Borough Council with 5 days of their time during the year long residency. This time will be related to the artist’s community and participatory arts practise. The exact structure and content will be agreed between the artist and EBC Arts Development Officers and will depend upon the opportunities available and the skills of the artist.

Deposit

The successful artist will be committed to signing the Harrington Studio Terms and Conditions. They will be liable to pay a returnable deposit of £50. This payment can be paid in instalments in agreement with Harrington Mill Studio management.

Declaration by Applicant

I have read the application pack and the answers I have given in this application form are true to the best of my knowledge. I consent to my referee being contacted in connection with this application. I consent to committing 5 days to Erewash Borough Council Arts Development department. I consent to signing the Harrington Mill Studio Terms and Conditions and paying the £100 returnable deposit.
