FREE STUDIO AND £500 MATERIALS BURSARY FOR A YEAR AT HMS
Erewash Borough Council is committed to supporting the creative industries by nurturing local talent and resoureces. They are offering a free studio space to a recently graduated fine artist . The one year residency will be a unique opportunity for an artist to develop their community and participatory practice. Erewash will support the artist's engagement with local galleries, Erewash Museum, community arts organisations and groups. the residency offers a finacial breathing space, allowing an artist to focus on the development of their own practice.
The University is working with Erewash Borough Coumcil and HMS to extend the residency further by offering a £500 materials grant for the successful artist. In addition the university will be offering the artist access to research resources and exhibition and workshop space.
RESIDENCY CRITERIA
The artist must be a recent (within the last 18 months) graduate in Fine Art from the University of Derby
The artists must be able to take up and make good and continuous use of the studio thruoghout the one year bursary period
The artist must be able to demonstrate a committment to community and participatory arts practice
The artist must have completed the application form in full
The artist must be able to attend the interview on Friday 20th July 2007
